My love for Walnut is not something I can hide. Or would want to hide! After (casually) mentioning (somewhere between one to ten times) how much I’d just LOVE a matching necklace (hint, hint), he later surprised me with two wooden handmade necklace charms that he designed and created all on his own.

Well…. MY CASSIA WALNUT + VINTAGE ROSE JORD WOODEN WATCH
After looking through all their unique wooden watches, I decided the Cassia Walnut and Vintage Rose JORD wooden watch was the one for me. It combines my love of walnut with rose gold (which they call vintage rose) and was the perfect combination of classic with a splash of personality.
After receiving it and wearing it for a couple weeks with the earrings and necklace charms Jay made me, I fell in love with it even more! It is definitely a classic timepiece!
The watch face has Roman numerals in a domed sapphire crystal glass, which is second only to diamond as the hardest and most scratch-resistant materials on earth! Although this watch isn’t waterproof (which I wouldn’t want to submerge wood into water anyways!), it is splash-proof, which is nice!
The watch face is a little bigger than I’m used to wearing (I usually like dainty little watches), but I’m ok with that. What I really love about this watch is the way the band’s walnut wood and vintage rose metal seamlessly link together. It’s VERY nicely designed!

STYLING
This watch is more than just something that keeps time, it is a lovely piece of jewelry! This summer, I’ve worn my Cassia watch with everything from cutoff denim shorts to cute summer dresses. It’s definitely an accessory you can dress up or dress down and a true wear-anywhere watch.
I’m kinda excited for fall to arrive too, as I know it will coordinate well with my cognac boots and jeans.
AFFORDABILITY
If you have been following us for any time, you know we like to stretch our hard-earned dollars as far as possible. When comparing the cost of JORD watches to other name brands, we find their prices very comparable. Some of their bands start out around $69. They have quite a few options around the $189 – $199 range in both ladies and mens watches. My walnut and vintage rose Cassia watch is priced at $199.
SIZING
JORD offers professional sizing so when you order a watch, it can be sized to your exact wrist size, so it’s a perfect fit upon delivery. My Cassia came with extra links in case I wanted to add some in to make the band larger. Because the watch face is a little larger than I’m used to wearing, I did add in a couple extra links to make the watch fit a little looser. Make sure to keep this in mind when sizing if you decide to order one.
Helpful sizing tip: Simply visit the page of the watch you are interested in buying and click on the “Custom Sizing” link located beneath the “Series Options” section. You can also print out the JORD Wrist Sizer sheet to see what size you need to order!
GIFTING
I can think of quite a few friends and family members who I know would love to receive a JORD watch. The huge selection of watch options and the ability to customize them would make a JORD watch a great gift! The back of the watch plates and optional cedar humidor display boxes can be engraved with a name or special message. I’m imagining this to be the perfect wedding gift from the bride to her woodworker groom! (Or vice versa!) How fun would it be to have a special message and wedding date engraved on the back of a wooden watch? Company logos, handwritten messages, standard text, and uploaded graphics can all be engraved. Too bad JORD didn’t exist in 2010 when Jay and I got married! These watches would also make a nice birthday, anniversary, or special graduation gift too!
